What's new at the Summit?

  •  Date Announcement:

    • Our 5th Anniversary Santa Fe Trombone Summit will take place from July 24-28th, 2023 and again be hosted at the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe, NM

  • Guest Artist:

    • As part of our 5th Anniversary, we are delighted to welcome an incredible Guest Artist from one of the Big 5 orchestras in the United States to the Summit!

  • New Participant Structure:

    • ​ In addition to our Participant Class, we are excited to announce the creation of the Honors Quartet. Comprised of the top 4 professionals and/or college students (3 tenors, 1 bass) who are accepted as members of the Participant Class, members of the Honors Quartet will have the opportunity to perform for our Guest Artist in their masterclass, work closely and personally with SFTS Faculty in additional masterclasses, quartet coachings, and side by side section sit-ins, and more. Daily Masterclasses
Participants each play for and learn from our Faculty and Guest Artists in 2 Masterclasses

How to Attend
  • The Participant Class is open to 16-20 professionals and/or college students. As a Participant, you will work closely and personally with SFTS Faculty in masterclasses, quartet and section coachings and sit-ins, and perform on the final concert in the SFTS Trombone Choir. You must be 18 years of age or older to apply. 

  • The Honors Quartet is comprised of the top 4 professionals and/or college students (3 tenors, 1 bass) who are accepted as members of the Participant Class. As a member of the Honors Quartet, you will have the opportunity to perform for our Guest Artist in their masterclass, work closely and personally with SFTS Faculty in additional masterclasses, quartet coachings, and side by side section sit-ins, and perform in the final concert as a quartet and in the SFTS Trombone Choir. You must be 18 years of age or older to apply. 

  • For our 2023 Summit, we are not currently offering an Auditor class.
